BOOSTER, HEPATITIS B, INFLUENZA AND PNEUMOCOCCAL VACCINATIONS

Vaccines held by the Clinic include:
  • Boostrix – Whooping Cough, Diptheris and Tetanus booster vaccine.
  • Hepatitis B Vaccine – for children who missed the school vaccination program and other patients needing vaccination.
  • Influenza and Pneumococcal vaccines - stocked for the Government funded Over 65s Immunisation program. For more details of the Older Australians Immunisation Program.
Influenza vaccine is available from early March. Stores of influenza vaccine for people other than those covered by this scheme are held and can be purchased. Patients with a Health Care Card can be provided with a script to purchase vaccines from the chemist at a reduced cost.
Pneumococcal vaccination requires 2 doses 5 years apart for effectiveness. This provides protection against the bacteria that is the most common cause of pneumonia in older people.
