CLINIC STAFF
All staff take part in regular in-house training covering a wide range of topics including: CPR, hand-washing, fire safety, occupational health and safety and public liability awareness.
External education opportunities occur in areas such as accreditation and members of our staff attend meetings to further their knowledge of the RACGP Standards.
Continuing education for Nursing Staff is an ongoing requirement for maintenance of their registration and our nursing staff regularly take part in education events locally and in capital cities. Wound management, Immunisation, Asthma management and Diabetes management are examples of subjects covered.
Our Junior reception staff training program began several years ago and has been an outstanding success. Year 11 and 12 students are employed as Trainees and provide the clinic with a flexible workforce, working after school, on weekends and during school holidays. While primarily employed to attend to simple tasks, the Trainees are also educated in reception and telephone techniques, privacy law and office procedures so that they can manage the office at times of lower demand. The experience and training gained at Federation Clinic gives the trainees skills that they can build on in their further studies and employment.
