COVID-19 VACCINE INFORMATION:

For current and accurate COVID-19 vaccination information, please call the Victorian Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 675 398 or visit the Australian Government COVID-19 Vaccination page at health.gov.au/covid19-vaccine

Federation Clinic strongly supports the availability of a Coronavirus vaccination to all of our patients. We are passionate about contributing to making these vaccines available to all in our community.

There are very strict Government rules and regulations with respect to how these vaccines are given and stored. Unfortunately, these regulations make it impossible for small to medium sized clinics such as Federation Clinic to safely store and distribute these vaccines whilst still being able to maintain our high standard of General Practice care as well as ensuring the distribution of other vaccines including the seasonal flu vaccine.

In light of this, we will not be offering Coronavirus vaccination here at Federation Clinic. We will, however, be encouraging our staff to be involved in the large community vaccination centre to ensure the vaccine is made available as quickly and efficiently as possible.

FLU VACCINE INFORMATION:

We are currently taking bookings for flu vaccinations for patients of all ages (over 6 months of age).  Please contact reception to book an appointment. When booking, reception will need to determine whether you need a private vaccines, or whether you are eligible for a Government funded flu vaccine.

Patients eligible for a Government funded vaccine include:

  • People aged 65 years or over
  • Pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy
  • People aged 6 mth or over who have a medical condition that puts them at higher risk of serious disease (ie; chronic disease such as diabetes, heart disease, asthma etc, patients on immunotherapy)
  • Children aged 6 mth to under 5 years (until they turn 5 years old)
  • Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islanders people aged 6 mth and over

Please be advised there is limited private stock available this year and bookings will be limited. We are unable to guarantee how many we will have available. At this stage, there are no restrictions on the availability of Government funded stock.

Further information about Government funded flu vaccines can be found at the Government website by clicking HERE.. You can also monitor our Practice news feeds by clicking HERE.
